Common questions about artwork photography services in Austin, TX
Artwork photography is a specialized service that captures paintings, sculptures, and other creative works with accurate lighting and color calibration. Unlike general photography, artwork photography focuses exclusively on photographing artwork for artists and students who need professional portfolio images.
You can schedule a session with me right here on the site. I offer in-studio and on-location sessions across Austin, including services for students at UT Austin, ACC, and local art programs.
Most artists prefer that I come to them — and I’m happy to do that. Transporting artwork can be risky, so I typically photograph your pieces right in your home, studio, or gallery space.
I bring everything needed: lighting, backdrop, and equipment. Usually, I’ll tape a large white paper to a clean wall and set up a clear area so I have room to move around. You can even preview each image in real time on my iPad, right from the comfort of your own space.
If you don’t have a suitable area available, just let me know — I can help arrange a location that fits your needs.
Yes — I specialize in art portfolio photography for students. I ensure every piece is well-lit, properly cropped, and meets portfolio submission standards.
Absolutely. I photograph sculptures, ceramics, and installations using directional lighting to show depth, shadow, and form — ideal for artists submitting to exhibitions or grants.
Yes I do! I photograph fashion art pieces — including garments, textiles, shoes, and wearable art — with the same attention to lighting, color accuracy, and texture detail that I bring to all artwork photography.
Because fashion pieces often require special backdrops, studio setups, and coordination with models or stylists, these sessions should be scheduled separately to ensure everything is done right.
If you need your fashion art photographed for a portfolio, lookbook, or exhibition, I’ll create a setup tailored to your materials and design.

Art documentation photography focuses on preserving the artist’s intent, color, and material detail. I don’t just take pictures of objects — I capture the essence of your artwork as it’s meant to be seen.
I work throughout Austin, Texas — including East Austin, South Congress, Hyde Park, and surrounding creative districts.
Most clients book 1–2 weeks in advance. Rush sessions are available for student deadlines and exhibition submissions.
You’ll receive high-resolution TIFF and JPEG files, ready for printing or digital submission. RAW files are available upon request.
Thank you so much for the photos and all of the time you spent putting everything together for me! They look great. I am honestly so happy with them.
Whether you’re building your first portfolio or documenting your latest exhibition, I’d love to help you share your art professionally.
